A Who's Who of the Humans in the Elves lives.

demontricker

Deamontricker

Deamontricker and Mantricker had an uneasy truce, after a good natured exchange of tricks, to keep their people seperated. He was one of the only humans to ever learn the Elfin language. Unfortunatly, the truce proved to be short lived. When game became scarce, The shaman #1 declared that the forest deamons were to be burned out to cleanse the land. Mantricker and Deamontricker, working together, scared the shaman into rescinding the order.

nonna

Nonna - Mate of Adar, Adopted mother of Geru, Nima, and Tenchi

Symbol maker, friend of Cutter

Part of the Hoan-G'Tay-Sho. This tribe of humans worshipped the elves of Blue Mountain. When Adar came to her village, they fell in love, and she left her tribe for him. However, when Adar returned to his village  with his new bride, the Bone Woman spoke out wildly against Nonna because of her symbol making talents. When the Bone Woman convinced Olbar, The tribal leader, to drive them both from the village, Nonna and Adar fled, living together in an isolated part of the forest.

Years later, Nonna had her first encounter with Cutter when he stumbled into her camp and collapsed. She thought him a child and immediatly whent to help - but Nightrunner saw it differently, and lept to deffend Cutter. It was only Adar's quickness that saved her from Nightrunner's attack. Nonna nursed Cutter back to health, earning his trust and proving to him for the first time that humans could be kind. Later, Cutter lead them back to Adar' tribe where they lived out their lives, raising three adopte children.

adar

Adar - Mate of Nonna, adopted father of Geru, Nima and Tenchi

Adar was the son of Tolf the Wood Cleaver. He loved his mate, Nonna, very much, though he did not always understand her, nor her devotion to the "Bird Spirit" elves. He brought his new bride back to his tribal village and was forced to leave when the Bone Women spoke against her. Still, he wanted her to be happy, and knew that their forced exile left her lonely. While Adar was skeptical as to whether he should worship elves, he did enlist the help of Cutter and Skywise in order to return to his tribe. Adar was honest, brave, and a good provider. There is a mysterious resemblance between this long-ago human and Elfquest co-creator Richard Pini.

geoki

Geoki

A young member of the Hoan-G'Tay-Sho. Honored to be part of the secret war-walk at his young age, Geoki knew they were going to find the "wolf deamons" and bring their heads to Winnowill. Even so, Geoki was the only one in the party that showed no enthusiasm for the hunt, unable to believe that the  little spirits were evil. Geoki begged his father not to set fire to the forest, but could not prevent it. After Geoki and his party were captured, he made friends with Dart, and attempting to save Dart's life when he was siezed by Kureel's hawk. Bothe Dart and Geoki were dashed to the rocks by the giant bird. Leetah healed the two young boys, who's friendship helped forge a first, tentative bond between the humans and the elves that was based on friendship rather than fear and worship.
Geoki and the Hoan-G'Tay-Sho left with Door to travel to the Forever Green.

shaman

The Shaman of Gotara #2

He was the one to burn the WOlfriders out of their ancestral home - the Father Tree Holt.
He believes the elves were"deamon spwan of th Evil Ones" who had invaded the world and who were responsable for twisting the shape of things with their fowl magic. He also believed that Gotara Willed a cleansing and that only man must rule  the land. Strongbow killed the shaman, but was unable to prevent the crazed human from making good on his threats to burn the "deamons"  from the forest.

Olbar the Mountain Tall

Olbar - Mate to Graysha

Olbar The Mountain Tall was the chief of the Great River Tribe, which had very little contact with elves before Cutter's arrival. Olbar was stronger and taller than the average human, hence his name. His physical strength availed him little where the Bone Woman was concerned, however; she preyed on his fears and was able to manipulate him, instilling in him an antipathy for ways and beliefs different from his own. Originally in awe of Cutter and Skywise, Olbar was responsible for saving their lives after Thief attacked them. Eventually he grew comfortable enough with them to heave Cutter onto his shoulder on occasion! Olbar was a good and honest man who looked after the welfare of his people.

littlepatch

LittlPatch - adopted son of Tyleet

The only human who was raised to adolescence as a Wolfrider. Abandoned by his mother and tribe because of  the bright, berry-red mark over his right eye, Tyleet found the pour baby, half dead from misuse, tied to a tree, and adopted him.
All the Wolfriders took part in his upbringing, and by his fourth "newgreen" even his scent was like the elves. He obayed tribal rules, hiding from humans with the rest of his "family" - and because Littlepatch could not send, Tyleet taught him secret howls and bird calls. When he grew up he found himself unsure as to where he fit in. He eventually left the wolfriders to be with the humans, though the human tribe had other ideas. Because of the port wine markings on his face he was shuned and it took a lot on Littlepatches part to earn his way into the tribe. He eventually did and found himself a mate, later become the tribes chief. When he became old he found the strength to run back to the holt where Tyleet was. She blew the caution whistle and he stopped efore he coul show the other humans where the holt was. He died in Tyleet's arms.

shuna

Shuna - daughter of the Mercenary and His Wife, Adopted daughter of Cutter and Leetah

Shuna (SHOO-nuh) was just a child when she first encountered her "blessed spirits." Leetah fell through the roof of Shuna's home as the young human lay dying of "the rot." The daughter of an abusive father, Shuna grew up believing in the magic and mystery of elves. Shuna ran away from home years later, after helping Tyleet escape from her father. Living on the streets, she became more and more enraged by the cruelty of the Djun, finally leading a rebellion against him. Lost after the Citadel fell, Cutter offered Shuna a home with the Wolfriders. She accepted the offer and Cutter and Leetah "adopted" her. She lives with them now in Goodtree's rest. She has been married to a hulk of a human (Name escapes me now) who abused her and cheated on her. She left him after beating him first. He fallowed her into the woods where he was "introduced" to her tribe and family. She beat him fare and square with a sword and told him never to return. Later she married Bee. Eventually she will be given the ability to send by Timmain.

khorbasi

Khorbasi

A human adopted by Yun and living with Ember's Tribe. He is considered a myth, or a legend that lives on the mountain and is never seen. Those that do find themselves un-lucky enough to run into him are killed and never seen again. But that's just a myth.

grohmahldjunhead.jpg

Grohmul Djun - Father of Gifa and Angrif

Grohmul Djun was a man of obsessions. Ruthless and quick to anger, often described as a sullen tyrant, he had an overwhelming need to dominate and rule all he saw. When he was disturbed, someone's life was usually forfeit, as he considered his subjects nothing more than cattle. One of the "wonders and mysteries" he was most obsessed with was the magic contained in the Shards of the Palace. Determined to possess this rare treasure, he ordered his men to collect every last sliver, using them to build four crystal chambers in his Citadel. Grohmul Djun met his match in "Lady Venovel" (Winnowill in human form). He was consumed by desire for her and eventually killed her. Grohmul Djun was shaken to the core when Cutter confronted him on the scaffold during Shuna's torture. This encounter drove Grohmul Djun past the point of madness. Years after "his" Palace shards were taken from him, he tries to regain his empire with his children Angrif and Gifa.

He discovers that the elves are living close to his home and his daughter goes out to kill them. His son goes out to find her and kills her instead. His son brings home the body instead, blaming her death on the elves. His son later kills him too, to gain the throne. He was almost proud of his son for doing this.
